Polymerizable composition (I), comprises a cycloaliphatic epoxide compound, univalent alcohol and photopolymerization starter, where the molar ratio of the epoxide group of the cycloaliphatic epoxide compound to hydroxyl group of the univalent alcohol is 0.9:1 to 4:1 and the hydroxyl (OH) functionality of all organic compounds of (I) with OH-group (n) is 1-1.25. Independent claims are included for: (1) a composition (II) comprising a thermoplastic oligomer or polymer, obtained through oligomerization or polymerization of (I), where the thermoplastic oligomer or polymer exhibits a softening point of 35-90[deg] C, which is measured according to ring- and ball- method; (2) the preparation of a thermoplastic oligomer or polymer comprising providing (I) and irradiating (I) over a period to obtain thermoplastic oligomer or polymer; (3) fixing or blocking an structural element on a holding element, comprising bringing (I) to the optical structural element and/or holding element, contacting the optical structural element with the holding element and irradiating (I) over a period to obtain thermoplastic oligomer or polymer; (4) the method for providing a protective layer or protective coating on the surface of an optical structural elements, comprising bringing (I) to the surface of an optical structural element in the form of a layer or film and irradiating (I) over a period to obtain thermoplastic oligomer or polymer; and (5) an optical structural element with a surface coating exhibiting (II). |
