PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a current limiting device and a current interruption system that reduces the installation space and size of a power distribution board and saves space. SOLUTION: The current interruption system 50 configured in a power distribution board or the like includes a current limiter 10, an earth leakage breaker 20, and a branch breaker 30. The current limiter 10 has an overcurrent detecting part for detecting that a vector sum of currents flowing in a voltage phase of an electric path exceeds a prescribed upper-limit value, and a breaking-signal output part for outputting a breaking signal to the earth leakage breaker 20 when the overcurrent exceeding the upper-limit value is detected. If the overcurrent is detected by the current limiter 10 and the breaking signal is inputted via a signal line 15, the earth leakage breaker 20 executes a breaking operation by operating a tripper so as to interrupt power supply to a load-side terminal.
