<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat belt device for a vehicle, which improves occupant retaining performance without deteriorating the comfortability of an occupant by properly determining the situation requiring occupant restraint. <P>SOLUTION: The seat belt device of a vehicle includes an acceleration-condition determination unit 36 determining whether or not an acceleration greater than or equal to a set value is applied to the vehicle within a predetermined amount of time after an acceleration greater than or equal to a first threshold acceleration value has been applied to the vehicle based on detection signals of a longitudinal acceleration sensor 41, a lateral acceleration sensor 42, a yaw rate sensor 43 and the like, and an electric current control unit 35 controlling the driving current of a motor 10 based on a determined result by the acceleration condition determination unit 36. When the acceleration-condition determination unit 36 determines that an acceleration greater than or equal to the set value is applied to the vehicle within the predetermined amount of time, the electric current control unit 35 controls the driving current of the motor 10 so that a set amount of the webbing 5 is wound up. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
