PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an exchange MME to discriminate whether each of connections is set up with a mobile station UE or with a relay node RN operating as a mobile station UE. SOLUTION: A mobile communication method includes the steps of: in the relay node RN, transmitting a predetermined signal when setting up a connection with the exchange MME; and, in the exchange MME, determining whether the connection is set up with the mobile station UE or set up with the relay node RN, on the basis of contents being set to predetermined information within the received predetermined signal.
