PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixture for fixing a substrate for a magnetic disk, and to provide a method for manufacturing the substrate, wherein quality can be measured by using a conventional prove measuring instrument or optical/coherent measuring instrument even on the substrate for the magnetic disk that has been processed only on one surface and is incapable of figuring on the other side. SOLUTION: The fixture 1 for fixing the substrate for the magnetic disk is used for inspecting the substrate 30 for the magnetic disk, the substrate 30 having only one surface thereof processed, includes: a supporting member 2 whose surface 2a contacting with a processed surface 30a of the substrate 30 for a magnetic disk has been processed to an extent equivalent to the processed surface 30a; and a fixing member 3 whose taper surface 3a contacting with an opening formed in a tapered shape at a hole part of the substrate 30 for a magnetic disk has been polished to an extent equivalent to the hole part of the substrate 30 for a magnetic disk at a non-processed surface 30b at the substrate 30 for a magnetic disk. The surface 2a of the supporting member 2 and the tapered surface 3a of the fixing member 3 fix the substrate 30 for a magnetic disk. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
