PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device capable of further contracting a hoistway space. SOLUTION: First and second recession parts 33a, 33b are provided on side surfaces 7c, 7d of a cage 7. The first and second recession parts 33a, 33b are continuously provided along a lifting direction (vertical direction) of a car 4. Namely, the first and second recession parts 33a, 33b are formed in a groove-like shape. A slight projection is formed in the cage 7 by providing the first and second recession parts 33a, 33b.
