PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for electrostatic latent image development, which reduces intervention of an external additive transferring from a toner to the carrier in a plurality of contact parts between carriers. SOLUTION: The carrier for electrostatic latent image development includes a core material, a resin layer coating the core material, and concaves that are open on the surface of the resin layer and have a depth of 50 nm or more and not more than the thickness of the resin layer and a circle-equivalent diameter of the opening of 3.5μm or more and 12μm or less.
