<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide environment where anyone can easily operate the apparatus regardless of a hand size and physical habit of an operator. <P>SOLUTION: In the electronic apparatus that has an operation member operable in a plurality of directions and performs operations corresponding to the operated direction of the operation member, the operated directions exceeding the number of operations performable with the operation member can be detected by a detecting means, each operation and the operated direction detected by the detecting means are correlated based on an instruction from an operator, and each correlation is stored. When the operation of the operation member is detected by the detecting means, the apparatus considers the stored correlations.
