PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store a battery placed on a transport means in a battery storage provided on a vehicle without any problems by appropriately correcting the tilt of the battery without using complicated devices even when the front-back direction of the vehicle is obliquely deviated from the transport direction of the transport means of a battery changer. SOLUTION: The battery changer includes a left transport belt 16 and a right transport belt 17 which are driven independently, a transport means 15 for transporting the battery to a transfer position of a table 14b or transporting the battery from the transfer position, and a drive controller 27 for the drive control of both or one of the transport belts 16, 17. Before a new battery placed on the transport means 15 is transported to the table 14b, the drive controller 27 controls the transport belts 16, 17 such that an inclination on a horizontal surface of the new battery is adjusted to equal to an inclination on a horizontal surface of the battery detected by an inclination detection means 29 when being transported from a battery storage 43 to the transport means 15.
