STREPTOMYCES SP. MJM5763 ANTIFUNGAL COMPOUNDS, SPECIFICALLY INHIBITS FUNGAL PATHOGEN IN CROP PLANTS

PURPOSE: A Streptomyces sp. MJM 5763 with a strong antifungal activity is provided to suppress pathogenic fungus existing in a crop culture land. CONSTITUTION: A Streptomyces sp. MJM 5763 produces an antifungal material YS-822B. The Streptomyces sp. MJM 5763 suppresses Penicillium pinophilum, Fusarium oxysporum, Fusarium chlamydosporum, Rhizoctonia solani, Cladosporium cladosporioides, and Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. A biocontrol for preventing crop pathogenic fungus contains Streptomyces sp. MJM 5763. A therapeutic agent for pathogenic yeast and pathogenic fungus contains Streptomyces sp. MJM 5763.
