PURPOSE: A washing machine is provided to prevent the bed smell caused from residual steam by completely closing a door when the washing machine is not used. CONSTITUTION: A washing machine(1) comprises a cabinet(10), a tub(100), a drum(200), a door(300), a hinge assembly(330), and a door holding member. The cabinet has an opening(10a) for injecting laundry, and the tub stores washing water and is installed at the inner portion of the cabinet. The drum is coupled to the inner portion of the tub and allows the rotation thereof. The drum receives laundry, and the door opens the opening. The hinge assembly supports the door in relation to the cabinet and allows the rotation of the door.
