PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll paper holder by which paper does not adhere to its abutment surface near cutting teeth when the paper is cut and the paper end can be easily held when paper is drawn the next time. SOLUTION: In the roll paper holder with the axis of the roll paper placed in a horizontal state so that it can be unrolled, the placing part is provided with a declining part which declines forward from a fixing part fixed along the wall surface, an ascending part which ascends from the front of the declining part, and side walls which are formed on both sides of the declining part and the ascending part. It is also provided with an outlet which is wide open for drawing the paper in the position of inflection between the declining part and the ascending part. Several protrusions which are formed of a material exhibiting higher sliding resistance with the paper than that of the placing part are formed near the paper cutting teeth and on the side of the outlet.
