<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a visible light-responsive photocatalyst which has photocatalytic activity and can be fixed to every support firmly over a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: A visible light-transmissive inorganic substance is deposited on the surface of a visible light-responsive photocatalyst particle obtained by depositing iron oxyhydroxide and/or a halogenated platinum compound on the surface of a photocatalyst particle such as titanium oxide. It is preferable that the visible light-transmissive inorganic substance is at least one compound of the element selected from the group comprising silicon, aluminum, tin, zinc and zirconium and is deposited by 0.1-30 wt.%. The visible light-responsive photocatalyst particle obtained by depositing iron oxyhydroxide and/or the halogenated platinum compound on the surface of the photocatalyst particle is mixed with the visible light-transmissive inorganic substance or a substance becoming the visible light-transmissive inorganic substance in a solvent to obtain a mixture. Then, an acid and/or an alkali are added to the mixture to neutralize the mixture so that the visible light-transmissive inorganic substance is deposited on the surface of the visible light-responsive photocatalyst particle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
