PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic transfer device which enables a uniform magnetic transfer without causing disturbance in a transfer magnetic field when separating a magnetic field generating part by constituting the magnetic field generating part which generates the transfer magnetic field with a permanent magnet and a return yoke, and efficiently applying the transfer magnetic field to a perpendicular magnetic recording medium as a medium to be transferred and a conjoined body of a master disk, and enables downsizing of the device by reducing a load applied to a place which supports the magnetic field generating part, and to provide a magnetic transfer method. SOLUTION: The magnetic field generating part includes one pair of permanent magnets in which one of magnetic poles of mutually different polarities face each other across a conjoined body, and a return yoke prepared between the other magnetic pole of the pair of permanent magnets. The magnetic field generating part moves from an outer periphery part of the conjoined body to an inner periphery part, while keeping a constant distance to a conjoined surface of the revolving conjoined body while the return yoke is located on an outer peripheral side of the conjoined body to the permanent magnet, and then moves to the outside of the conjoined body through the outer periphery part from the inner periphery part.
