PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil carrying device which can be carried without causing unwinding by the spring-back of the tail end of a coil even if an upper part of a mandrel is covered with an obstacle. SOLUTION: The coil carrying device has coil cars 11-16 and 19 reciprocally arranged between a down coiler 200 and a coil station 100 and supporting a coil C so as to be liftable, and pressing carriages 20-29 reciprocally arranged between an upper part in the vicinity of the down coiler 200 and an upper part of the coil station 100 and pressing down an upper part of the coil C. The pressing carriages 20-29 have a presser plate 24 supported at the base end side as a cantilever by a hydraulic cylinder 23 so as to be liftable at the lower side of a pressing carriage body 22, oriented so as to turn the longitudinal direction along the axial direction of the mandrel 202 and overhung so as to project the tip side more than an end at the down coiler 200 side of the pressing carriage body 22.
