<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for promoting a physical activity for video game players. <P>SOLUTION: The video game player wears one of footwear with a physical activity monitor and a game pod mounted thereon while practicing or performing some other type of physical activity. The game pod measures the amount of the player's physical activity, and records the amount in a memory. The player disengages the memory from one of the footwear, and engages the memory with the computer managing the video game through a computer interface. The computer obtains the recorded amount of physical activity, and provides a computer function associated with the recorded amount of the physical activity. The function may include functions of the initiation of the video game, the instantiation of a specific game environment within the video game, the instantiation of specific characteristics for the player's avatar within the video game, an extended playing time for the user's avatar, permission for the player to access data associated with the video game, and the like. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
