<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polycarbonate, which allows the re-use of the phenol being by-produced in the production process for polycarbonate, to make effective use of resources, and also allows the production of a polycarbonate excellent in hue and thermal stability. <P>SOLUTION: The production method of polycarbonate comprises a production process of diphenyl carbonate for producing diphenyl carbonate using phenol and a carbonyl compound as raw materials; a process (a) for producing polycarbonate, for subjecting a dihydroxy compound having, in the molecule thereof, a structure represented by the general formula (1) (with the proviso that except a structure of -CH<SB>2</SB>-O-H) and diphenyl carbonate to a transesterification at lower than 270°C, to produce a polycarbonate (A); and a phenol recovery process for recovering the phenol by-produced in the production process (a) of a polycarbonate, wherein the by-produced phenol is used as at least a part of raw materials used in the production process of diphenyl carbonate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
