PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the efficient and low cost production of a composite tape provided by inserting a subordinate tape to a tape insertional part of a main tape. SOLUTION: The efficient and low cost production of a composite tape 1 formed to be inserted a subordinate tape 3 to a tape insertional part 2a of a main tape 2, is enabled without requiring work of inserting afterward the subordinate tape 3 to the tape insertional part 2a, by knitting the main tape 2 and the subordinate tape 3 each simultaneously with a knitting machine 11, supplying the knitted subordinate tape 3 to the surface side of the main tape 2 to be knitted, and knitting the tape insertional part 2a of the main tape 2 so as to embrace the subordinate tape 3 supplied on the surface side.
