PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zip fastener which can maintain waterproofness and fluid impermeability by being properly fixed to zip fastener tapes so as to endure extreme weather condition and handling, and hardly meets obstruction to connecting elements by a waterproof equipment. SOLUTION: Relating to the zip fastener and the method and use of the same, the zip fastener is provided with fabric fastener tapes having the connecting elements. A coating layer of a thermoplastic material is provided on at least one first surface of the fastener tape. The coating layer extends continuously along the first surface and over the edges of the fastener tapes, and extends along at least one second surface of the fastener tape.
