<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage controller and control method for controlling a plurality of storage devices with a high power saving efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: A storage device management part 11 obtains attribute information D1, D2 including information on the performance or power saving function of the storage devices 30, 31 from a plurality of storage devices 30, 31, and determines the storage devices to be effective or ineffective with respect to the power saving function in response to the attribute information D1, D2 between the storage devices 30, 31.
