PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a period in which program viewing or the like is interrupted for channel scanning without needing a fixed receiver or transmission device by preventing a problem wherein channel scanning is not performed in any state except a standby state, in a device for receiving digital broadcast. SOLUTION: This device 100 for receiving digital broadcast includes: a hardware configuration part 119 for performing a series of processing such as reception, demodulation and demultiplexing of broadcast waves and decoding and outputting of video/audio; a present location estimation part 115 for estimating a broadcast area of the present location; a channel scan control part 120 for updating channel information by sequentially executing tuning control of physical channels included in the broadcast area estimated as the present location; a channel selection control part for controlling a tuner part during channel selection, and updating the channel information using the channel selection result; and a download control part for controlling the tuner at a previously-notified date to obtain transmission location information of a broadcast station superposed on broadcast waves from a demultiplexer part, and updating a frequency list.
