The plate has a corrosion-protection coating at a region of a main surface of the plate. The plate is made of steel with carbon content of 0.4 gram equivalent weight percentage, tensile strength of more than 1.100 Newton per square mm, breaking strain of more than 2 percentage and initial measuring length of 80 mm. The steel comprises a structure with a proportion of 50 percentage of pearlite. Chemical composition of the steel corresponds to chemical composition of steel according to EN 101324standard. Spherical cementite is embedded into the steel structure. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a spring steel-sheet metal plate for a flat gasket.
