PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screen printing device and method, printing efficiently while ensuring good printing quality in screen printing on the upper surface of a substrate and the bottom surfaces of recesses formed in the upper surface. SOLUTION: A sealed squeegee mechanism 13 provided with a first sliding contact plate 44A and a second sliding contact plate 44B, is used in screen printing whereby paste is printed onto an upper-surface print area in which upper surface electrodes are formed and a bottom-surface print area which is set on the bottom surfaces of recesses and in which bottom surface electrodes are formed. In this case, when a bottom-surface print area 12a is a printing target, paste remaining in the recesses is skimmed off to be removed by the first sliding contact plate 44A located behind in the squeeging direction. When an upper-surface print area 12b is a printing target, paste sticking to the upper surface is scraped off by the second sliding contact plate 44B located behind in the squeeging direction.
