The conductor (10) has a cable (12) with a cable sheath (14), a cable shield (16) and an inner conductor. An electrically conductive connection element is arranged between an end of the sheath and a plug connector element (30) that is electrically connected with a shield connection segment including a shield connection. A cable shield connection segment encompasses an end region of the cable shield, where the end region struck back on an outer sheath surface of the sheath. The cable shield connection segment is connected with the end region of the shield in an electrically conductive manner. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an electrical conductor.
