PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact switching device by which arcs generated between a conductive fluid and a movable electrode is reduced to decrease the occurrence of a conductive failure and an operational failure. SOLUTION: The contact switching device A includes: a fixed electrode 7 having a contact section constituted of the conductive fluid 2 with which a recess 1a provided on a surface of a case 1 is filled; a rod-shaped movable electrode 3 which is detachably in contact with the conductive fluid 2 of the fixed electrode 7; an actuator 5 for making the movable electrode 3 freely move back and forth between a closed pole position in contact with the fixed electrode 7 and an open pole position opened from the fixed electrode 7, and a cylindrical heat-radiating body 4 which has a cavity 4a in which the movable electrode 3 is movably disposed, and which is disposed on the surface side of the case 1 so as to surround around the recess 1a. Arc heat of the arcs, which is generated between the conductive fluid 2 and the movable electrode 3, is radiated through the heat-radiating body 4 to reduce the arcs, and as a result, sustained time of the arcs is shortened.
