PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program for tracing a forged note. SOLUTION: The program for tracing a forged note includes: an image extracting means for extracting, from one and the same sensor, a first image of a first bank note deposited in a deposit device and a second image of a reacquired bank note which is the first bank note to be detected as a forged note and deposited in the deposit device; a transaction log means for associating a transaction log with the first image to store the transaction log associated with the first image in a storing means; a comparing means for comparing the second image of the reacquired bank note with the first image of the first bank note to calculate similarity; and a retrieving means for acquiring the transaction log associated with the first bank note from the storing means if the comparing means determines that the first image of the first bank note is within the range of a predetermined similarity of the second image of the reacquired bank note about the similarity calculated by the comparing means.
