PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber ribbon with the polarization mode dispersion reduced. SOLUTION: The optical fiber ribbon 10 includes a plurality of optical fibers 20, arranged parallel to one another and integrated by coating the circumference of the fibers 20. In a cross section perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the optical fiber ribbon 10, the coating 14 has a slit S on the outer surface corresponding to a position between optical fibers 20 adjacent to each other. Consequently, stresses in a horizontal direction are divided and the stress difference between the horizontal direction and the perpendicular direction is reduced, and polarization mode dispersion is reduced.
