PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the adhesiveness between a metal material and an olefinic polymer by forming a surface-treating layer of a specified compound on the surface of the metal material and to provide a laminate layer of the metal material and the olefinic polymer. SOLUTION: A metal laminate has a surface-treating layer (B) containing (b) one or more of substituted monocyclic or condensed-polycyclic aromatic compounds or their metal salts at least in a part of the surface of the metal material (A). A metal laminate having a layer of a modified olefinic polymer (C) on the surface-treating layer (B) and a metal laminate having a layer of an olefinic polymer (D) on the layer of the modified olefinic polymer (C) are also provided.
