<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user with further natural feel of a virtual object, as if he/she touches an actual object. <P>SOLUTION: The haptic feedback device is configured to give a haptic load set by position information on virtual space for a hand of the user that receives feel and position information on the virtual object present on the virtual space to the hand of the user. The haptic feedback device includes: a finger position detection means which detects position information on at least one finger of the hand of the user; a palm section position detection means which detects position information on a palm section of the user; a spatial position comparison means which compares, based on the finger position information, the palm section position information, and position information and object information on the virtual object, the positions in the virtual space of the finger and the palm section, with that of the virtual object; a haptic feedback means which gives, based on mutual spatial positions obtained by the comparison means, a haptic load to the finger and/or the palm section; and a haptic control information generation mean which generates, based on the mutual spatial positions, control information to be output to the haptic feedback means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
