To suppress the deflection in a radially outward direction of a coil spring upon compression thereof and to ensure optimal spring characteristics, a sub-plate (5) is used in a clutch disc assembly for transmitting a torque through large coil springs (7). Window holes (5b) are formed in the sub-plate (5) for receiving the large coil springs (7). A linear edge (32) is formed in an intermediate portion in the circumferential direction of an outer circumferential edge of each window hole (5b) punched out for limiting a radially outward deflection of each large coil spring (7) upon the compression. <IMAGE>
