Disclosed are compounds of formula (I), wherein the substituents are as defined in the specification, and processes for their preparation. The compounds inhibit acetyl CoA:diacylglycerol acyltransferase (DGAT1) activity and are useful in the treatment of type II diabetes, insulin resistance, impaired glucose tolerance and obesity in warm-blooded animals.
