The glasses have a frame supporting two loupe type eyepieces (5) that are made of synthetic sapphire with refraction index of about 1.75. The frame has two supports (2, 3) connected by a bridge (4). The frame is chosen from pince-nez frame, lorgnette frame and foldable frame. The eyepieces are fixed to the frame by gluing/pressing or by using flexible joint. The flexible joint is made of synthetic material such as Tefzel(RTM: ethylene tetrafluoroethylene), Hytrel(RTM: thermoplastic polyester elastomer), or Zytel(RTM: nylon resins).
