The pump (17) has a housing comprising a suction-side connection (3) and a pressure-side connection (6), and a pump (29) e.g. gear pump, arranged between the suction-side connection and the pressure-lateral connection. The prefeed pump is arranged between the pump and the pressure-side connection and isolated by two external connections (4, 5), which are hydraulically connected with each other by an external fuel pipe (33). A fuel filter (31) is arranged at the external connections. The suction-side and pressure-side connections are arranged in a flange surface (27). An independent claim is also included for a fuel injection system comprising a fuel high-pressure pump.
