PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical communication system and the like comprising a multicore fiber with a plurality of two-dimensionally arrayed cores.SOLUTION: In the optical communication system, an array converter 120 provided between an OLT (optical line terminal) 110 and a multicore fiber 400 having light emitting areas arrayed one-dimensionally comprises first and second end faces 120a, 120b and a plurality of optical waveguides 310. Respective optical waveguides 310 are arranged such that one side end face 310a coincides with the first end face 120a and the other end face coincides with the second end face 120b. In particular, the array of the optical waveguide end face 310a on the first end face 120a is different from the array of the optical waveguide end face 310b on the second face 120b, achieving an optical link between network resources of different types. |
