PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decide a phase-to-phase short circuit of a brushless motor quickly.SOLUTION: A brushless motor control device 50 includes switching elements T, T, T, T, Tand Twhich supply a drive current to respective phases of a polyphase brushless motor 43, a control unit 51 for duty driving of the switching element in each phase, and a phase current detection unit 54 which detects the phase current flowing through the wiring 57a, 57b, 57c of each phase connecting between the brushless motor and the switching element of each phase individually. The control unit includes a phase-to-phase short circuit decision unit which decides the occurrence of short circuit in the wiring of respective phases. The phase-to-phase short circuit decision unit decides that a short circuit has occurred when the phase current is brought into oscillation state where a predetermined overcurrent state caused by short circuit and a predetermined overcurrent state caused by regeneration are repeated alternately. |
