PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display in which a liquid crystal is sealed by a one-drop fill method, preventing such a phenomenon that a liquid crystal is supplied excessively or insufficiently, and preventing deformation of a substrate and generation of air bubbles while improving reliability in a seal part.SOLUTION: A gap between a TFT substrate 100 and a counter substrate 200 in a display region is defined by a columnar spacer 205, and a gap between the TFT substrate 100 and the counter substrate 200 in a seal part is also defined by the columnar spacer 205. In the display region, one layer of a color filter is formed below the columnar spacer. In the seal part, two layers of island-shaped color filters (201G and 201B) are formed. With this configuration, the gap between the TFT substrate 100 and the counter substrate 200 is maintained equal between the display region and the seal part. Even when the process for forming the columnar spacer 205 varies, it is possible to eliminate a change in difference between the gap between the TFT substrate and the counter substrate in the display region and the gap in the seal part. |
