PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for suppressing a printing image quality from being adversely affected by noise caused when a conveying screw is rotated in an image forming apparatus, in which toner remaining on the surface of a photoreceptor is removed and conveyed to a waste toner box by the conveying screw.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 includes: an electrifier 20 electrifying the surface of the photoreceptive drum 8; an exposure unit 21 forming an electrostatic latent image; a developing unit 22 developing the electrostatic latent image into a toner image; a transfer roller 9 nipping a recording paper 14 between the transfer roller 9 and the photoreceptive drum 8, to transfer the toner image; a cleaner 19 having the waste toner box 27 storing the toner removed from the photoreceptive drum 8 and the conveying screw 26 conveying the removed toner into the waste toner box 27; and a control device 40 stopping the rotation of the conveying screw 26 from when it is detected that the top end of the recording paper 14 reaches a nip position 15 to when it is detected that the bottom end of the recording paper 14 has passed through the nip position 15. |
