ELECTRIC PROPULSION SYSTEM FOR SMALL MARINE VESSEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a constitution capable of efficiently using generation electric power, continuously operating an engine at an operation point of high efficiency at the use of the engine and reducing noise in an electric propulsion system for a small marine vessel.SOLUTION: The electric propulsion system 10 for the small marine vessel includes a generator 14 driven by the engine 12; a main battery 16 fed with electric power generated by the generator 14 and charged, and a battery 18 for in-vessel equipment; an inverter 20 to which the electric power generated by the generator 14 is fed through the main battery 16 or not through the main battery 16; an electric motor 28 for propulsion driven by the inverter 20; and a propeller 32 driven by the electric motor 28 for propulsion.
