CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MOVING MULTIPLE AUTOMATED VEHICLES ALONG A MONORAIL

A monorail system (100) containing a monorail (30) and a system controller (20) that has a first radio frequency ethernet communications device (150). Location markers (80) are attached to the monorail (30) and vehicle (10) is positioned to move on the monorail (30). A remote controller (70) is interconnected to the motor drive system for the vehicle (10). The remote controller (70) controls movement of the vehicle (10) and receives information from the system controller (20). A reader (60) connected to the remote controller (70) senses the location markers (80) attached to the monorail (30). A second radio frequency ethernet communications device (440) is provided to create a wireless ethernet network to control the movement of the vehicle (10).
