PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation image detector having superior photodetection sensitivity, capable of suppressing the image quality deterioration of a radiation image, and to provide a method for manufacturing the detector.SOLUTION: The radiation image detector includes a scintillator 18 constituted on a support 11, with a columnar crystal 34 included therein, for converting an irradiated radiation into light; and a photodetector 16 for converting the light emitted from the scintillator 18 into an electrical signal. In the radiation image detector, arrangement is adopted so that a radiation enters the photodetector 16 and the scintillator 18, in this order, and the columnar crystal 34 exists at the radiation incidence side of the scintillator 18, and a non-columnar crystal 36 exists on the opposite side to the radiation incident side of the scintillator. |
