At a loom, the sley has a rapid mounting for the reed (1) with a recess at the upper surface of the sley (1) to hold the bottom length (5) of the reed (1). The side support surfaces (3,12) of the recess are formed by two continuous clamps (10,11,20) along the sley length normally held together in a locked position. At least one of the clamps (11) can be shifted against the other by a fluid under pressure which flows within a chamber (19) across the loom width and under the support surfaces. One clamp (11) is in a moving structure along the sley length, which can be shifted in parallel to and against the facing surface (3) of the other clamp (10) between two positions. In one position, the recess is closed to grip the inserted reed (1) and, in the other position, the clamping forces are released for the reed (1) to be removed. A mechanism (17) holds the two clamps (10,11) in relation to each other. They are separated by the injection of a fluid under pressure within a chamber (19) where one of its walls is formed by the base (20) of the inner surface (20) of the moving clamp (11). The sley (2) has a monoblock structure. The clamps (20) are integrated into the sley (2), and an integrated chamber for the circulation of the pressure fluid is within the sley (2) so that it forces apart the ends of the two legs (20) of the clamp system.
