Disclosed is an illumination device which controls the amount of light emitted by a light emitting section in accordance with a control signal and which comprises a power supply section (1) for supplying power and a light emission section that is illuminated by supply of power from the power supply section (1), and which further comprises a power-supply control section (18) that causes the light emitting section to be illuminated after the control signal has been supplied. It is possible to illuminate the light emitting section after the control signal has been supplied and therefore it becomes possible to cause the light emitting section to emit light from the outset in an amount that corresponds to the control signal, so avoiding any feeling of discomfort that the user might otherwise experience. |
