The present invention relates to a real-time optical fiber splice closure monitoring system and to a method for operating same. For this purpose, the present invention comprises: a temperature and humidity sensor (54) and a transmitting unit (52) arranged in the interior or the exterior or an interior-exterior connection portion of a optical fiber splice closure (50) and connected to a microcomputer (53) to sense an internal temperature and humidity of the optical fiber splice closure (50) and to transmit the sensed conditions; a mobile monitoring unit (60) which receives the signals transmitted by the transmitting unit (52) on the ground, and which is provided with, in the interior thereof, an input unit (62), a data processing unit (63) and a receiving unit (64) connected to a control unit (61); and a monitor operator (center) (70) which is connected to the optical fiber splice closure (50) and to the mobile monitoring unit (60) through a wired/wireless Internet network communication network or through a radiofrequency, and which is provided with a database (71) and a web server (72). The thus-configured present invention enables the real-time monitoring of the ingress of water into the optical fiber splice closure to be performed from the outside without directly opening the optical fiber splice closure, in particular enables the periodical management of data on the humidity in the optical fiber splice closure, and compensates for defects of conventional optical transmission network monitoring systems when the data is interoperated on with the monitor operator (center), thus significantly improving the quality and reliability of a product and providing good service to users. |
