ELECTRIC MOTOR AND INSTALLATION METHOD THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the installation of an electric motor in adaptation to an installation foundation without modifying a mold for the frame of the electric motor.SOLUTION: The electric motor 10 is placed on the upper surface of the installation foundation 11 and fixed with holding-down bolts 19. The electric motor 10 includes the frame 13 made of cast metal and detachable legs 18 made of steel plates attachable to the outside of the frame 13 with mounting screws 17. In each leg 18, there is formed a through-hole 20 into which a holding-down bolt 19 can be inserted. The legs 18 support the load of the electric motor 10 on the upper surface of the installation foundation 11 and transmit the load to the installation foundation 11. The legs 18 are fixed on the installation foundation 11 by the holding-down bolts 19 penetrating the through-holes 20 in the legs 18.
