PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enlarge a dynamic range while keeping an excellent S/N in an image sensor based on a column system. SOLUTION: In a preamplifier portion (column region portion) 61 of a solid-state imaging device, a pixel signal control unit 200 is provided which independently detects a magnitude of each pixel signal through a pixel signal detection unit 210 independently at an output side of a pixel signal amplification unit 230 for each vertical signal line 158 and sets a gain to the pixel signal amplification unit 230 independently in accordance with the signal magnitude. On a post-stage of the solid-state imaging device 10, an A/D conversion unit 64, a signal expansion unit 310 and the like are provided and by correcting a gain component set to each pixel signal amplification unit 230 by referring to a classification signal Vsepa from the pixel signal detection unit 210 for a pixel signal digitized by the A/D conversion unit 64, the dynamic range of signals for one picture is enlarged.
