PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor, in which high performance in a high level, long life time and high reliability can be obtained. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic photoreceptor, having an intermediate layer, photosensitive layer and protective layer laminated successively on a conductive substrate, the intermediate layer contains (1) two kinds of inorganic compounds, having the average particle sizes D1, D2 (satisfying D2/D1<=1/5) and a binder resin or contains (2) an organic zirconium compound, and the protective layer contains at least a filler and a binder resin.
