<p>Double-clutch transmission 1 comprises two input shafts 20, 22 and three layshafts 38, 40, 50 that are parallel to each other. One or more of the layshafts 38, 40, 50 comprises a pinion 41, 51, 55 that meshes with an output gearwheel 12 on an output shaft. Seven gearwheel groups provide seven sequentially increasing forward gear speeds. Each of the seven gearwheel groups comprises a fixed gearwheel 24, 25, 26, 27, 30, 31, 32 on one of the input shafts 20, 22, meshing with an idler gearwheel 60, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66 on one of the layshafts 38, 40, 50. One or more coupling devices of are mounted on one of the layshafts 38, 40, 50 to selectively engage one of the idler gears 60, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66 for outputting these seven gear speeds.
