<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately perform an image correction processing when an image is rotated and outputted. <P>SOLUTION: An image file is restored in order from the top, so as to obtain start point restoring information or the histogram of RGB values, and a skin color area, etc., is extracted and stored in a data buffer (S100-S190). An object recognition processing to determine whether an image content indicates a portrait image or a scenery image is performed, based on the size and position of the obtained skin color area and existence of a pixel area corresponding to both eyes and a mouth, etc., so as to calculate a parameter for an automatic correction processing (S195, S200). The image file is restored from a start point block with the use of the start point restoring information, so that the image after rotation is generated in order from an upper end and outputted by performing the automatic correction processing in response to the calculated parameter (S210-S300).
