PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a winder having a rider roll unit capable of suppressing bend of a winding core without applying a strong pressing force and suppressing degradation of gloss of a web. SOLUTION: The winder to continuously wind a web w around a winding core 4 by pressing a web roll R against a rotating drum roll 1 and rotating the drum roll comprises first and second rolls 11 and 12 disposed to hold the web roll R to suppress generation of bend of the winding core 4 under the rolling operation by the tension of the web w, a rider roll unit 10 comprising a bracket 13 to pivotably support the first and second rolls, and a pressing arm 20 to rock the rider roll unit 10 so as to be extended/retracted to/from a drum roll 1. The minimum distance d1 between an outer circumferential surface of the first roll 11 located on the web tension side and an outer circumferential surface of the drum roll 1 is set to be smaller than the minimum distance d2 between an outer circumferential surface of the second roll 12 located on the web counter-tension side and the outer circumferential surface of the drum roll 1.
