PARTICULATE FILTER WITH HYDROGEN SULPHIDE BLOCK FUNCTION

PURPOSE: A particulate filter with a hydrogen sulphide blocking function is provided to remove nitrogen oxide and particulates from an exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine operating under a lean condition by a catalytically active particulate filter. CONSTITUTION: An oxidation-catalyst activation film(1) is arranged as an upstream section. A film(2) including a copper compound is arranged as a downstream section. An inlet channel(3) and an outlet channel(4) are separated by a porous wall(4). The inlet channel and the outlet channel are reciprocally sealed by an airtight plug(6). When an exhaust gas flowing in a filter member contacts the film including the copper compound, hydrogen sulfide is blocked.
